This was the first day of true slot canyons. When we went to the Paria Creek Visitor Center to find out about THE WAVE she told us it was by lottery only. That we'd have to come in the day before we wanted to hike about 8:30 a m, fill out the paperwork, and hope for the best. But - she also told us about these slot canyons, so we headed out to hike through them. We went through Wire Creek Canyon first - which is shown just under the lizard picture; then we hiked through Buckskin Canyon. The photo I chose is one of Al fording a puddle. I went through first. I luckily chose the other side, and didn't go in quite as deep as he did. We had a couple of places to go through water on that hike....we learned that shoes dry out very quickly afterward in the heat.
