On Day 7 we hiked up - - and I do mean up - - to get to a canyon called Hidden Valley at Zion National Park. It was a little unnerving - but I made it! Later we hiked as far as we were permitted to go up the raging, flooding Savage River. One of Al's goals for the trip was to hike upriver - - but it was closed because of the extreme danger it posed from being so high. The day before, his dream to go into Cedar Breaks was dashed. It was closed because of snow. But - just a couple of days later we were in the right place at the right time - so everything worked out for the best.
