Day 6 SLOT CANYON TRIP: May 29, 2011

Day 6 we started hiking. Our first hike of the day was up Kanara Creek. For the first crossing we took off our shoes. After that we just waded through and dried out later.... When it got too dicey for me, I stopped and Al went on further. That was fortuitous, because he met another couple hiking who told him about THE WAVE and a slot canyon named Willis Creek. Wish I could thank them for the tip now that I know about THE WAVE firsthand!

The second hike of the day was a 6 mile round trip hike up Taylor Creek in Kolob Canyon, which is at the north entrance of Zion National Park. It was delightful - and had the treat of a beautiful little waterfall at the furthest destination point. There were lots of other sights along the way as well, including old cabins from days gone by.
